Our in-house legal clinic offers free, high-quality legal representation designed to protect Illinois immigrants and keep families together.

Our dedicated team of attorneys and Department of Justice (DOJ) accredited representatives provide compassionate, expert guidance to help community members navigate the immigration process and apply for immigration relief.

    • Appointments open the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 9am CST. They are filled on a first come, first served basis. 

    • Make an Appointment by clicking the button on this page in the section above.

    • If you do not have an e-mail address, please call us at 312-666-3062 to sign up for an appointment with our intake specialist. We have limited appointments for prospective clients.

    • You must be an Illinois resident.

    • Appointments are limited to one adult per consultation.

    • Tuesday is the main day designated for first time consultations.  We offer appointments on alternative days a few times a year. 

    • Follow-up appointments for existing clients are typically done on other days of the week.

  • The Immigrant Justice Legal Clinic office is located at 1805 South Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60608

  • Monday-Friday: 9am-5pm

  • Most of our services are free if you live in the state of Illinois except for select citizenship services.

  • We only take on cases for Illinois residents. If you live outside of Illinois, the Department of Justice has a roster of organizations across the United States that are accredited to practice immigration law here: https://www.justice.gov/eoir/recognized-organizations-and-accredited-representatives-roster-state-and-city

  • Our services are offered in English and Spanish.

  • If your family member or loved one is detained by ICE, fill out our “detained loved one” form https://www.trpimmigrantjustice.org/legal-assistance

  • No, TRP does not assist with petitioning for loved ones who do not live in the United States. You can find a list of organizations that help with this service here: https://www.immigrationadvocates.org/legaldirectory/

    • Documents relating to your immigration status. 

    • Documents relating to any criminal case. 

    • Government issued ID, state ID, passport, green card or employment authorization card.

  • Currently, first time DACA applications are not being accepted by the federal government. You could sign up for a general consultation and one of our legal representatives will conduct a comprehensive legal screening to determine eligibility for any immigration relief.

    • Current and past work permits 

    • Copy of your previously filed DACA application(s) 

    • Copy of your passport, state ID, driver’s license or consular ID 

    • Any criminal or traffic records you have had in the U.S. 

    • Fees in the amount of $605.00, paid either by credit, debit or ACH withdrawal

  • DACA scholarships are available for Illinois applicants who earn up to 100% AMI.  See chart below for income limits based on household size.
