Legal  Assistance

If your loved one has been detained by ICE, and they live in Illinois, fill out the form and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

If you were placed in deportation proceedings and are not currently detained or if you need to speak to a legal representative about your eligibility for immigration benefits, register for a workshop below. This resource is available for Illinois residents only.

Immigration Assistance Workshops

Immigrant-serving organizations across the state provide free immigration assistance workshops to eligible immigrants living in Illinois through the Immigrant Legal Support Program (ILSP).

At the workshop, you will be able to speak with a legal representative who will provide hands-on support with reviewing your case and, if eligible, may be matched with a legal representative to accompany you.

You may receive assistance with:

  • Work Permit (EAD) Applications

  • Temporary Protected Status

  • Asylum Applications

  • Change of Venue and Change of Address

  • Upcoming Immigration Court Hearings or I.C.E. / ISAP Check-ins

*COMMUNITY NOTICE: During July 2026, the immigration assistance workshop will pause temporarily to update services and be better prepared to serve the community. Workshops and referrals will resume on August 1, 2026.

Appointments for ICE Check-ins and Court Hearing prep will continue. If you have an upcoming appointment or hearing, please continue to register where you may receive a workshop appointment.

If you are in need of other immigration support at this time, please contact one of our partners in the Illinois Access to Justice network ilaccesstojustice.com/get-help.
